Proa forward Pete Iguel and Mobil point guard Jun Estolas came out as the most decorated players in the Garapan Basketball League’s IT&E Cup regular season awards ceremony held during halftime of Game 1 of the best-of-three championship series Wednesday night at the Garapan Basketball Court.

Iguel was hailed as both the regular season most valuable player and best player of the IT&E Cup conference. He also was awarded Best In 3-Point Shot and naturally landed a position on the specially selected Mythical 5 lineup.

As for Estolas, he shared the spotlight with Ol’Aces shooting guard Tony Diaz as dual Scoring Machines for the league, and took Most In Assists honors with a spot on the Mythical 5 roster.

Other Mythical 5 players included Konflikt-IT&E’s Jawn Joyner at center, FGC forward Lerio Pagarao, and Proa playmaker Dan Barcinas.

Other individual awardees included Konflikt-IT&E’s Elmer Esdrelon for Best In Steals, Mobil’s Gyles Ruluked for Best In Rebounds, FGC’s Zack Babauta as Best Defensive Player, Shot Block King Badong “Budz” Camacho of Blue Haus-Satbahi, Sixth Man Award winner Bernard Aquino of Blue Haus-Satbahi, Andhok’s Dexter Tenorio for Best In Sportsmanship, and Brandon Talania of Blue Haus-Satbahi as Darling Of The Crowd.

Game 2 between Proa and FGC took place last night; details will be released on Tuesday. If necessary, the deciding Game 3 is scheduled for Monday at 7pm.

Proa holds a one-game advantage coming into last night’s match after taking the first game, 106-90, in overtime Wednesday night. A $1,000 cash prize goes to the champion team.
