AG’s Sakude wins Inter-Government Bud Light Cup

AG’s Sakude defeated DPS Enforcers, 8-6, in a road draw at Jonny’s Bar & Grill last Friday to clinch the Saipan Electronic Dart Association’s Inter-Government League Bud Light Cup championship.
AG’s Sakude is made up of Eric Atalig, Skyler Benavente, Alvin Iglecias, Jayson John, George Sablan, and Tony Tomokane.
AG’s Sakude finished second place overall in the regular season and knocked off front-runner Team CUC, of Jonny’s, in the opening round.
Then they advanced past DYS Atdit in the semifinals before taking out the Enforcers for the title.
In related news, SEDA’s A division Bud Light Cup semiFinalists include the Proofers, Wild Bill’s Bar & Grill’s Troubleshooters, and D’Pirates Bar’s Predators.
The last spot will be handed to the winner between fourth place Celebrity and top-ranked D’Pirates’ Mixed Bloodshooters 1.
The Proofers came into the tournament in seventh place and advanced over the eighth-ranked Primos on Monday, 9-3, on the road at VFW Post 3457.
No. 9 Troubleshooters defeated caboose team Gaiana-A in a road game at Bar Gaia, 9-3.
These two will face off on Monday for a berth into the semifinals.
The Predators came into the tournament in the fifth spot and snuck past sixth-ranked Naked Fish Boyz, 9-8, on the road at Naked Fish Bar & Grill and will face the winner between Mixed Blood 1 and Celebrity.
A total of 10 teams made up A Division with the bottom six teams given byes through the opening round.
In the first round, Mixed Blood 1 advanced over second-ranked D’Pirates’ Bud Brothers, 9-2, in a road draw, while Celebrity grinded out an upset over third-ranked Ali’i Kamote’s, 9-8, in a home draw at Jonny’s.
Following Monday’s semifinals pairings the championship match is slated for Jan. 2, 2012. The location for the finals is yet to be determined.
