A Hawaii-based energy efficiency company plans to bring a breakthrough technology that would reduce power bills and provide savings to both residential and commercial consumers when it opens its doors on Saipan next month.

1st Global, Renewable & Energy Efficiency Network or GREEN Solutions, LLC is expected to open an office along Middle Road next to the Northern Marianas Protection and Advocacy Systems, Inc., according to general manager Rick Sparacio.

“We are looking to be here more full-time as more and more installations go in,” Sparacio said at the Rotary Club of Saipan meeting at Hyatt Regency yesterday.

Their main goal, Sparacio said, is “energy conservation” in a way that reduces the consumption of scarce resources and reduces utility bills or the amount of fuel used when operating generators.

Sparacio said they aim to make the amount of electricity that consumers use “100 percent efficient.”

According to Sparacio, they utilize the Universal Shunt Efficiency System or USES, a patented, state-of-the-art technology and “the only product on market today” that saves energy and money, reduces demand, protects and improves the performance of equipment, and is compatible with all electronic controls and variable frequency drives.

“Once the USES Technology has been installed, it converts wasted energy into usable power and actually gives it back to the consumer. Thus, the consumer draws less from the utility company,” Sparacio explained.

Sparacio said they have “documented proof” that USES technology, which has been installed in thousands of facilities around the world since 1992, lowers true kilowatt demand and kilowatt hours; reduces total current content including harmonics, corrects power factor; protects against normal surges and spikes and lightning strike; reduces motor wear and maintenance as well as motor and ballasted fixture average temperature; and increases lighting ballast and lamp life.

“This is the only product that I know of where we can actually come in ahead of time, before there’s any obligation or any purchase of the technology, and actually give you a demonstration of what it’s going to do for your facility before you make any commitments,” he said.

Sparacio disclosed that they are working to install the technology at the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. and other establishments such as Joeten Superstore and Aquarius Beach Tower.

Sparacio said that he and three other staff will be available for the next one-and-a-half week to conduct comprehensive presentations, make assessments and provide proposals. For those interested in the USES technology, they would need to provide power bills to analyze usage over the last 12 months and what is paid per kilowatt hour to calculate savings.
