Pellegrino: Arctic Circle Air moving along
The Arctic Circle Air project of businessman Anthony Pellegrino, which intends to jumpstart the agriculture industry in the CNMI, is “moving along” as planned.
Pellegrino disclosed yesterday that Arctic Circle Air Capt. Jim Parrish is currently in England making inspections of the two aircraft which are included in the acquisition of Arctic Circle Air, an American airline based in Fairbanks, Alaska.
The acquisition came with a 1,000-lb small aircraft, another 5,500-lb aircraft, and all manuals and licenses.
After inspections are conducted, Pellegrino said that the aircrafts will then be moved to Alaska to finalize changing its ownership to the new Arctic Circle Air which will carry agricultural produce and other cargo between CNMI and Guam.
“We’re right on target and we expect the plane to be here about the end of January and start our business about the first week of February,” Pellegrino told Saipan Tribune.
While the project is moving along, Pellegrino is “sad” knowing that the project was not able to take advantage of the “December rush” which could have allowed local farmers and ranchers to sell more of their produce.
“But we’re pushing forward with this project,” added Pellegrino.
