Police arrested over the weekend a suspected supplier of crystal methamphetamine or “ice” on Saipan.

Lian Jun Li, 48, was brought to the Superior Court on Monday afternoon for a hearing on charges of trafficking and illegal possession of a controlled substance.

In a written order issued yesterday, associate judge David A. Wiseman found probable cause to find Li’s arrest justified. He imposed a $25,000 cash bail for Li’s temporary release.

Preliminary hearing will be on Nov. 28 at 9am.

The Office of Public Defender was appointed to represent Li. Assistant attorney general Russell Lorfing appeared for the government at the hearing.

No other details of the case were available as of yesterday.
