United operates charter flights from four Chinese cities to Guam

GUAM—United Airlines, a wholly owned subsidiary of United Continental Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: UAL) announced that it will operate 10 roundtrip charter flights to Guam from four Chinese Cities.

They are Shanghai (PVG), Beijing (PEK), Hangzhou (HGH), and Dalian (DCL), during the peak Chinese New Year season, from January to early February 2012. Flights will be operated by the airline’s Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which features 14 business and 141 economy class seats.

“This will be our fifth consecutive year operating non-stop charter flights from mainland China to Guam since 2008,” said Barry Bergmann, United’s managing director for Micronesia and Southeast Asia. “China is one of the world’s fastest- growing markets for leisure travel and United Stated to promote Guam as a beautiful and attractive beach destination to Chinese travelers. With support from our local travel agency partners and Unites’s sales team in China, the charter flights truly demonstrate our continued strong commitment to the Guam market.”
