Pinktober is on 11/11/11 this year at Hard Rock
Hard Rock Café Saipan partners again with the Commonwealth Cancer Association in encouraging the community to support breast cancer awareness efforts through the Pinktober event this Friday.
Restaurant and training manager Mikka Valencia said that for this year’s Pinktober event, they decided to move it to November and schedule it on the once-per-century date, 11/11/11. Doors will open at 6pm.
Valencia said that Hard Rock International has long been a supporter of international breast cancer awareness efforts, and this would be the second year that the local Hard Rock is working in partnership with a local group to promote the Pinktober event.
“We owe it to the public,” Valencia told Saipan Tribune. “Even though we’re in a small island, we want to show that we can support organizations like Commonwealth Cancer Association. It’s our responsibility to support a good cause.”
Valencia said entrance fee costs $11 per person, which includes one free drink. Choices include Bloody Mary, Salty Dog, draft beer, soda or iced tea.
Happy hour rates will apply throughout the event, Valencia added.
Guests are encouraged to wear pink. They will be treated to live music entertainment from the 15 performers lined up for the event.
Merchandise featuring the pink ribbon, the international symbol of breast cancer awareness, will also be sold at the event. Buyers can get a 20 percent discount on bracelets, keychains, and t-shirts.
There will be a photo booth by the entrance where guests can have their photo taken for free.
“So far, our ticket sales is doing good,” said Valencia. “Over a hundred tickets have been distributed for our staff to sell but we’re expecting that many of our guests will buy their tickets at the door.”
