DYS staff holds professional development training

The Division of Youth Services held its semi-annual Professional Development Training at the Pacific Islands Club on Oct. 12-14.

Presenters included the DYS staff, CNMI Attorney General Edward Buckingham, Frank Gibson from Human Resources Support, and Angie Cepeda, Amanda Angel, and Les Uludong from the Northern Marianas College Community Development Institute.

The main topics included DYS’ strategic plans for fiscal year 2012, victim rights and services, leadership and management, sexual harassment in the workplace, team-building skills, and communication skills.

The training is part of DYS’ continuous effort to provide quality services to its consumers and the community by enhancing the knowledge, expertise, and skills of its personnel.

The training was funded by a Community Services & Social Services block grant. [B][I](DYS)
