The Society for Human Resource Management CNMI Chapter will be hosting its November general membership lunch meeting on Friday, Nov.4, 2011, from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret.

The meeting topic, “Workplace Flexibility,” will be presented by Karen Verico, Pacific-West Field Services Director for SHRM National.

This timely presentation is open to the public and will be an invaluable opportunity for both employers and employees to learn about workplace flexibility opportunities that have become a key business strategy to leverage the talents and skills of today’s increasingly diverse, aging, and multi-generational workforce. By attending, you will learn how flexible work arrangements such as job sharing, flexible scheduling, and phased retirement can drive employee engagement, productivity, retention, and benefit your organization’s bottom line. Companies will also be highlighted that have won the national Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility for their innovative programs. Participants will also learn about new resources as a result of SHRM’s partnership with the Families and Work Institute, including the “When Work Works” initiative. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn how you can make your workforce more flexible and competitive during these challenging economic times.

The presentation includes lunch and the cost is $20 for SHRM members and $30 for non-members. Seats are limited, so reserve your seat by contacting Polly DLG Masga at 237-5122 or e-mail her at pollydlg@gmail.com. (SHRM)
