Unsanitary
I applaud the ABC inspector and office for shutting down a restaurant that was recently cited for gross sanitary violation for serving food with a cockroach in it. This happens many times, but if a food is cooked over 140 degrees Fahrenheit, no living organism would survive that heat and certainly the cockroach would have been safe to eat. But the sight of a cockroach in a dish is still gross, no question about it, and this restaurant deserves the consequences of the ABC enforcement.
What I have noticed many times, however, in shared female/male restrooms of small restaurants is the presence of a small pot on top of the wash basin. My curiosity forced me to inquire with servers in these stores about what the small pot was doing in the bathroom. To my amazement, many restaurant servers and employees use the pot as a water container for cleaning after defecating! This tells me that the restaurant is unsanitary, and I never go back to a restaurant that permits this unsanitary practice. I wonder if the ABC inspectors or office have investigated this matter and noted this situation as well. Otherwise, I would alert your readers that when they observe a pot in a restaurant’s restroom, that spells out a warning and they should be concerned about their health and safety in patronizing these stores. But then again, you can judge for yourself every time you go to any business establishment and you find a pot in the bathroom. I thought that toilet tissue is the only thing you use to wipe stuff from your behind. But I could be wrong.
