Cell Pro gets lion’s share of Blue Haus awards

Cell Pro took home the most hardware in Sunday’s Blue Haus Invitational Basketball League awards ceremony held after the championship bout at the Garapan Basketball Court.

High wire act Leo Itaas won both the C Division pennant and Finals MVP awards after leading Cell Pro to a 91-88 upset overtime victory over erstwhile undefeated Micronesian Brokers, Inc. in the one-game finals Sunday night.

In addition, Cell Pro’s Abel Caraig was also recognized as best coach for leading his team to the championship.

MBI settled for runner-up honors during the awards ceremony and Mawati was presented with the sportsmanship award.

The two finalists and third place finisher Sherwin Williams were handed pennant championship trophies for winning their respective divisions.

In addition, MBI’s Noel David won the A Division pennant MVP award and Sherwin Williams’ Jun Tabora came away with the B Division MVP plum.

Other individual awardees included Rommel Usi of A Division’s Pacific Postal, Rodney Sacramento of B Division’s Joeten Superstore, and Jayir Concepcion of C Division, who were each selected overall most valuable players of their respective divisions during the regular season.

Other awardees included 3-point king Jomer Diyco of Fong’s Bakery; 8th Division’s Joseph Pena, who led the league in blocks; rebounding champion Fredie Litulumar of Jacem Printing; Wings Travel’s Ed Yalung, who was credited with the most assists; and NVM’s Jomar Tengco, who won the most steals award.
