Shane “Pikaboo” Alvarez is among the three Trench Tech fighters who may get invites in future PXC events in Guam after a big win in last week’s Rites of Passage 11: Onra.

Alvarez triumphed in ROP’s most exciting fight of the night and Trench Tech’s first-ever featherweight title bout. After an exhausting five-round bout with Marianas Elite’s Derrick “El’Peligro” Rangamar, Alvarez arose victorious, extending his unbeaten streak to seven with a unanimous decision.

On Saipan, Alvarez is well known as a very technical fighter with an entire MMA family behind him. He enters every match with a specific game plan and a diligent work ethic that has yet to let him down.

Alvarez, along with fellow Trench Tech fighters Josh “Chaos” Duenas and Mylo “AlabaMMA” Lassiter left good impressions on special guest referee Tony Deangelo, who attended the event to scout for talents, too.

Duenas is a bantamweight (135-lbs) and swiftly submitted Guam’s Kevin Miranda of team Counter Shot with a triangle hold just 35 seconds into the first round.

Lassiter is Trench Tech’s lone heavyweight fighter and is unbeaten in three fights. All his victories came in the first round. He is a natural striker, but is developing a savvy ground game with the help of his coaches and trainers.

Trench Tech president Cuki Alvarez said they may consider invitations from PXC, but believes the three fighters need more bouts and time to prepare for tougher competitions.

“As the team manager and head coach, it is my responsibility along with my coaching staff to hone and fine tune our fighters’ skills before sending them to the next level. If an offer comes our way we reserve the right to accept or decline the offer based on the experience, win-loss record, and the overall quality of their past opponents,” Cuki Alvarez said.

”I still feel that all three fighters would need a couple more solid matches before sending them toPXC. Not that they aren’t able of competing at that level, but taking into mind that experience speaks volumes and the more fights my guys have, the more acclimatized they will be in the cage. At the same time, it is important to set them up with tough/experienced opponents to gauge their performances,” he added.

Meanwhile, Cuki Alvarez also shared a list of fighters who impressed his own talent scouts. These include Tinian’s Regino Mundo of Zeng Zung and Zalaka’s Jacob “One Blow” Ilo and Joe “Da Combo” Duenas.

Mundo is a three-time undefeated K-1 kick boxer and the scouts would like to see him graduate to Trench Warz against a pro-level K-1 opponent. Ilo is also a three-time undefeated K-1 kick boxer and the scouts would like to see him have a crack at MMA.

Joe Duenas is undefeated in three MMA bouts and his most recent win came over one of Saipan’s most experienced fighters, “Tabi” Jay Muna of the Predator Combat Team. Duenas took out Muna so easily that scouts think he will surely have a bright future in the sport.

Notably, Josh Duenas was also included on this list and after being undefeated in two fights, he will most likely be offered a chance to complete in Trench Warz event.
