[B]Free health checkup today at Oleai pavilion[/B]

Commonwealth Substance Abuse Prevention and Recovery Coalition chair Clyde Norita is inviting the public to join the group’s activity today at the Oleai pavilion from 4pm to 6pm where it will hold free health checkup and screening to community members. Besides informational materials, women who will show up for breast cancer screening will be provided $10 gas coupon.

On Saturday, Sept. 17, the coalition members will also hold a bagging activity at Joeten Shopping Center where health brochures and freebies will also be handed in to customers from 8am to 12pm. These activities are in line with the monthlong celebration of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in the CNMI. [B][I](PR)[/I][/B] [B]SIS Fun Run this Saturday[/B]

Saipan International School is having its 11th SIS 5K Fun Run this coming Saturday beginning at Banzai Cliff. Registration starts at 6am. Race starts at 7am. Registration fee is $10. First 120 participants will receive a T-shirt and a raffle ticket. Tina San Agustin, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ legal administrative specialist for Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will be on Saipan on Sept. 28-29, 2011, for a Veterans Outreach on veterans’ federal benefits. She will be also entertaining questions and assisting veterans and all concerned with their claims.

Agustin will be stationed at the Military and Veterans Affairs Office on Capitol Hill, building 1364, Saipan, from 8:30am to 4:30pm on both days.
