The Northern Marianas College will be holding a free crisis management seminar entitled “Crisis Communications and Media Response Training for Today’s Leaders” on Sept. 28 from 9am to 12pm. The seminar is open to the general public and will be held in Room D1 at the College’s As Terlaje campus.

The seminar will feature Richard Brundage, a widely recognized crisis communications expert, and will focus on preparing key communicators for any media appearance.

Participants will engage in discussions about the formulation of messages in person, in print, or in electronic media and how to improve an organization in a critical situation. Participants will also learn more than 50 techniques to improve their media appearances.

“This is a very valuable seminar for anyone who regularly communicates with the public on behalf of their organization,” said Community Development Institute program manager Les Ogumoro-Uludong.

In addition to developing this seminar, Richard Brundage is known for his book The Heart in Communicating. He has trained various medical, corporate, legal, educational, government, and industrial leaders and was recently selected by the State Department to train new U.S. Ambassadors.

Because of interactive group activities in the seminar, seating will be limited to the first 75 registrants. To register or for more information, please contact Les Ogumoro-Uludong by phone at 234-5498 ext. 1010 or by email at logumoro@nmcnet.edu. (NMC)
