Kagman High School will be holding an orientation for juniors and seniors today, Aug. 26, 2011. Juniors will have their orientation from 9am to 10am, while seniors will have theirs from 10:30am to 11:30am. For more information, call the KHS main office at 237-3840. Saipan Southern High School will have its freshman student orientation today, Aug. 26. It will be held in two different sessions—from 9am-11am and from 1pm-3pm. Attend only one session with parents or legal guardians. No students will be allowed to attend the orientation without parents or legal guardians in attendance. Learn how to make tamales mendioka, rosku in traditional oven [/B]

The Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw is offering free classes in making tamales mendioka, rosku, and gutyuria at the Man’amko Center in Garapan on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011. Also, amot makpung is available as well as some medicinal plants. All interested Chamorros and Carolinians are encouraged to attend. The making of the tamales, rosku and gutyuria will start at 9am. A few traditional healers will be at the Center with some of their medicines from 9am to 12pm.

This Saturday’s activities at the Rota Chamorro Village Cultural Center (in the DCCA office compound) include making motsiyas food and aliling tulompu bracelet and pendant, coconut shell earrings, making fly traps, and story telling. Activities on Rota start at 10:30am. Children and adults are invited.

These activities are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Indigenous Affairs Office (Saipan) and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs Office (Rota) and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans. This is to let all veterans and all concerned know that Tina San Agustin, Department of Veterans Affairs legal administrative specialist from Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, will be on Saipan on Sept. 28-29, 2011 for a veterans outreach on veterans federal benefits. MMA exec on Marianas Agupa tomorrow[/B]

Coast Guard training on Tipalao, Cetti bays[/B]

SANTA RITA, Guam—The U.S. Coast Guard will conduct training on Tipalao Bay and Cetti Bay on the following dates and times:

* Aug. 26 from 6:30pm-10pm
* Aug. 29 from 6:30pm-10pm
* Sept. 1-2 from 6:30pm-10pm

The location of the training on Tipalao Bay will extend from 13-25°N and 144-38.5°E. The location of the training on Cetti Bay will extend from 13-19°N and 144-39°E.

The public, especially fisherman, commercial pilots and marine tour operators, are advised to stay clear from the area during the times and dates indicated. [B][I](USCG)[/I]

Oleai Elementary parent/guardian orientation set[/B]
