Upset victory for Kulet’s Team

Kulet’s Team pulled off the biggest win in the 2011 Saipan Soccer School Futsal League on Tuesday night at the TSL Sports Complex after stunning erstwhile leader Shirley’s B Team, 4-2.

Four different players scored for Kulet’s Team, handing the squad its third win in eight games. Shirley’s B fell to a 7-2-0 win-loss-record and lost the No. 1 spot to sister team Shirley’s A (7-1-0).

The former leader failed to make it to the scoreboard in the first half, while Kulet’s Team drew one goal each from Vanessa Pritchard and Corina. Alexa Varga and Marriele Gariguez scored for Shirley’s B in the second half, but they still lost, as Kulet’s Team also gained one goal apiece from Windy Orcine and Dyenina Diaz.

IT&E Awesome 2, Thai Team 2

The other women’s game between IT&E Awesome and Thai Team resulted in a 2-2 draw.

Thai Team had the lead at the break, 2-0, behind a goal each from Catherine Perry and Pratoom Stoffer. Michelle Masga scored IT&E Awesome’s lone goal in the first half.

In the second half, Carrie Schuler made the equalizer for IT&E Awesome, which now has a 6-2-1 slate. Thai Team has a 3-3-2 card.

Go Green 5, Korean Futsal 5

The men’s match between Go Green and Korean Futsal also ended in draw, 5-5.

Semisi tallied a pair for Go Green, while Jersh Angeles, Fradel Sedillo, and Russelle Zapanta hit one apiece. Jin Wook Cho, Jeong Jin Jeon, Dae Won Jeon, Dae Min Jeon, and Min Jong Choi logged one each for Korean Futsal (6-2-1), which is a win behind leader Wild Bill’s (7-1-0).

Docomo 7, Red Inter 5

Docomo took the solo third place in the team standings after beating Red Inter, 7-5.

Ropati Tonuu led Docomo’s fifth win in nine games, scoring four goals. Peter Loken chipped in two, while Steve McKagan recorded one.

Peter Houk and Matt Holley had two goals each for Red Inter, while Arkie Reusora made only one, as their team absorbed its third loss in nine matches.
