Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman has slapped a two-year prison term against an ex-convict who was arrested again on charges of trafficking methamphetamine or “ice.”

Wiseman sentenced Jungding Qui to a total of two years in prison for two counts of illegal possession of controlled substance. The sentence is without possibility of parole.

In his order issued last week, Wiseman gave the 37-year-old Qui credit for the 302 days he had already served in jail. He will be released from prison on Oct. 13, 2012.

After completing his sentence, Qui will be placed on supervised probation for two years. He was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, $100 court assessment fee, and $100 probation fee.

The Office of the Attorney General had charged Qui with two counts of trafficking of a controlled substance and two counts of illegal possession of controlled substance.

Qui pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of controlled substance as part of a plea deal. The remaining charges were dropped.

Qui also agreed to assist law enforcers in other drug investigations where he can provide personal knowledge.

Using a confidential source, members of the Drug Enforcement Task Force and Criminal Investigation Bureau were able to buy “ice” from Qiu on Oct. 13 and 18, 2010.

On June 30, 2010, Qiu was sentenced to 257 days in prison for illegal possession of “ice.” He was released that day because he was given credit for the time he had already served in jail.
