Learn how to make traditional bread and cake, native meds

The Inetnon Amot yan Kutturan Natibu/Mwiischil Safey me Kkoor Aramasal Faluw is offering free classes in making bread and Chamorro cake and native medicine to all interested Chamorros and Carolinians tomorrow, Aug. 20, 2011, at the Man’amko Center in Garapan.

The making of the bread and Chamorro cake will start at 8:30am. At the Man’amko Center will be lessons on some simple native medicine.

This Saturday’s activities at the Rota Chamorro Village Cultural Center (in the DCCA office compound) will be a continuation from last Saturday’s, which includes carving, cooking, and contemporary art.

Activities on Rota start at 10:30am. Children and adults are invited.

These activities are offered by the Association of Native Medicine and Culture, in partnership with the Indigenous Affairs Office (Saipan) and the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs (Rota) and funded in part by the Administration for Native Americans.
