A man allegedly slapped his girlfriend and repeatedly hit her with a broomstick Tuesday afternoon at a house in Koblerville.

Julio Litulumar Emangmai, 25, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and disturbing the peace. Bail was set at $10,000 cash.

The victim was brought to the Commonwealth Health Center due to bruises all over her upper back, left shoulder, eyes, left cheek, and left jaw. The left side of her head was also swollen, police said.

Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan stated in her report that police officers responded to Alaguan Street in Koblerville on Tuesday at 5:23pm after police received a disturbance call. When the officers arrived at the house, they saw the victim lying on the ground.

The victim told police that Emangmai repeatedly slapped her until she fell to the ground. He then allegedly hit her back several times with a broomstick. A witness called the police.
