[B]NMC offices closed on following dates[/B]

As announced earlier, the Northern Marianas College will be implementing a work hour reduction for its employees. As such, NMC offices on the Saipan, Rota, and Tinian campuses will be open during normal business hours but closed on the following Fridays: Aug. 5, Aug. 19, Sept. 2, Sept. 16, and Sept. 30, 2011. Please note that during these weeks the Cooperative Research Extension and Education Service offices will extend its business hours from 7:30am to 6:30pm (Monday to Thursday).

Offices that will remain open on the dates earlier mentioned include Counseling Programs and Services and the Community Development Institute. Adult Basic Education classes will continue as planned on these dates as well.

Class registration for the fall 2011 semester will proceed as planned from Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, through Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011. Visit the NMC website at www.nmcnet.edu for more information. [B][I](NMC)[/I]

Tanapag school kindergarten registration[/B]

Tanapag Elementary School’s kindergarten registration for school year 2011-2012 will be held on Aug. 8-12 and Aug. 15-17, from 8:30amto 3:30pm at the main office. Kindergarten registration requirements: child must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2011; copy of child’s birth certificate; school entrance health certificate; copy of health insurance or Medicaid; map of residence; copy of legal guardianship (if applicable).

Kagman High orientation schedule
[/B] Kagman High School will be holding an orientation for freshmen and sophomores on Aug. 25, 2011. The freshmen orientation will be from 9am to 10am, while the sophomore orientation will be from 10:30am to 11:30am.

The orientation for juniors and seniors will be on Aug. 26, 2011. Juniors will have their orientation from 9am to 10am, while seniors will have theirs from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Registration info for Saipan Southern High
[/B] Saipan Southern High School students who have been elevated from Junior High are not officially enrolled if your parents/ legal guardians did not submit a registration form. Pick up forms from the counseling office and submit ASAP for your child to be enrolled in SSHS. All returning students that attended
SSHS last year must return all textbooks and settle all obligations with the school, before you can pick up your class schedule.

Schedules are to be picked up at the Counseling Office as follows:
* Seniors, 12th Grade, Aug. 22, Monday, 9am-4pm
* Juniors, 11th Grade, Aug. 23 Tuesday, 9am-4pm
* Sophomores-10th Grade, Aug. 24 Wednesday, 9am-4pm

All transfer and new students enrolling at SSHS in grades 10, 11, and 12 are required to attend an orientation on Aug. 25, Thursday, 9am-4pm, with their parents or legal guardians. Freshman student orientation on Aug. 26 will be held in two different sessions—from 9am-11am and from 1pm-3pm. Attend only one session with parents or legal guardians. No students will be allowed to attend the orientation without parents or legal guardians in attendance.

Kagman High Painting Party[/B]

Calling all Kagman High community stakeholders! Students, parents, alumni are all invited to come to Kagman High on Aug. 10 and 11 at 9am for a painting party! Help us prepare for the opening of the best school year ever! We will be painting the exterior walls of the school in preparation of school year 2011-2012 and our accreditation visit in April. Wear your BA ‘HAKI clothes and bring a paintbrush if you have one and a dish to share. We will provide the paint and other supplies. [B][I](KHS)[/I]

Kagman High Fence Line Clearing Party[/B]

Students, parents, alumni are all invited to come to Kagman High School on Aug. 17 and 18 at 9am to help us beautify our campus fence line. We want to clear the sakati and tangan-tangan to make our school safe and secure by providing visibility thorough the fences. Help us with this big task by bringing your kama, machete, bush cutters and strength. We will provide the gas for the brush cutters. Bring a dish to share for the potluck at lunch. [B][I](KHS)[/I]

Kagman High Water Blasting Party[/B]

Students, parents and alumni are all invited to come to Kagman High School on Aug. 22 and 23 at 9am to help us blast last year’s dirt away! We want to water blast the sidewalks and window shutters in preparation for the opening of the school. Help us with this wet task by bringing a water blaster if you have one and a hose. We will provide the gas and electricity if your blaster is electric. Bring a dish to share for the potluck at lunch. [B][I](KHS)[/I]

Kagman High re-registration ongoing[/B]

Students planning on attending Kagman High School must re-register in order to get a schedule of classes. The purpose of this is to update our records and contact information. Incoming 9th graders from Hopwood, if you have not registered yet, do it soon! Many of you are not registered yet and time is running out! Required documents: copy of birth certificate, school entrance health certificate, copy of medical insurance card, official transcript, legal guardianship document (if needed) and registration application (which includes an E-Rate income survey). Official registration will end Aug. 19. Late registration will be accepted, but placement in choice classes depends on early registration! [B][I](KHS)[/I][/B]
