Dr. W. Chris Perez elected chair of UOG board

Dr. W. Chris Perez Dr. W. Chris Perez was elected chairman of the University of Guam Board of Regents during their regular meeting held April 26. Kathy Sgro was elected vice chairperson, and John Arroyo was elected treasurer.

“To serve is a privilege. To serve well is a responsibility. To serve righteously is honorable. The Board of Regents of UOG has and will continue to serve honorably,” said Perez. “I am indebted to chairman Sonny Ada for his example of firm and fair leadership which the newly elected officers of the Board will emulate.”

On behalf of the university community, UOG president Robert Underwood expressed his gratitude to former chair P. Sonny Ada and regent Andrew Laguana whose terms end May 29, 2012. Student Regent Joseph Villagomez’s term also ends in May and the new student regent elected by the UOG student body is Anthony Quenga.

“Congratulations to the new slate of officers who were unanimously elected by members of the board,” said Underwood. “We look forward working with Dr. Perez in his new role as chair.” (UOG)
