The CNMI Area Health Education Center, AHEC, a program under the Northern Marianas College Community Development Institute, is inviting individuals aged 15 to 21 to participate in the upcoming Health Careers Exploration and Leadership Training for the Youth.

The free training will allow participants to improve their knowledge on nutrition and health, and develop their leadership and team-building skills. The aim of this workshop is to educate the youth in the CNMI on how to live a healthier lifestyle and to empower them to teach their peers and others in the community on the importance of healthy living. In addition, participants will also learn about various careers in health care.

The two-day training will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, from 7:30am to 4:30pm, and on Friday, July 29, 2011, from 7:30am to 12:30pm at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.

The deadline to register for this training is Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Register by visiting the NMC Community Development Institute Office in Building P at the As Terlaje campus. Interested individuals under the age of 18 years must have permission from a parent or legal guardian in order to register.

For more information, contact AHEC program coordinator Orrin Pharmin at 234-5498 ext. 1019/1020 or email orrinp@nmcnet.edu.
