SANTA RITA, Guam—Through a partnership between Naval Base Guam and the Mayor of Santa Rita, Dale Alvarez, relatives of victims of the July 1944 Fena Cave Massacre and Guam historians will be transported to the cave site on Tuesday, July 19, at 4pm.

Buses will transport this select group from the Santa Rita Mayor’s Office onto U.S. Naval Base Guam, Naval Munitions Command, where the cave is located.

There will be no formal ceremony or Mass at the site, but visitors will offer prayers for the deceased and reminisce. Sailors and Marines will offer courtesy escort for the man’amko (elders) across the grass and on the steps to the cave.
