Some people save money in a shoe box while others use a piggy bank. Attend Bank of Hawaii’s “The Basics of Banking” seminar to familiarize yourself with various deposit products that banks offer so that you’ll be able to select the services that best suits your needs.

The seminar will be held on July 20, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm, at the bank’s Garapan branch along Pale Arnold Road in Puerto Rico. It will be facilitated by Joanne Aldan and and Chyrel Javier.

In this seminar, you’ll learn:

* What deposit products and services banks offer

* What a checking account is and how to use it

* What a debit card is and how to use it

* How to manage a checking account

* How to avoid overdraft fees

Bank of Hawaii’s Smart Money Seminars are held as a community service throughout the year. They are free and open to anyone to attend.

Similar seminars will also be held on July 19 in American Samoa at its main branch at the Centennial Office Building in Utulei and on July 20 in Palau at its Koror branch.
