SHRM presents ‘CNMI Prevailing Wage Survey’
The Society for Human Resource Management CNMI Chapter will host a presentation open to all employers about a CNMI Prevailing Wage Survey that will be conducted in the coming weeks.
SHRM has partnered with the Saipan Chamber of Commerce to provide a presentation that will explain the purpose, details, and benefits of the survey.
The presentation will be held at the Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe tomorrow, July 6, from 1:30pm to 3pm and the guest speaker will be Andy Andrus, executive director of the Guam Employer’s Council.
The SCC has contracted the Guam Employer’s Council to conduct a comprehensive survey of wages, salaries, and benefits in the CNMI. The Guam Employers’ Council and its executive director have been conducting such studies in the Western Pacific for approximately 25 years.
If you own, manage or work for a business that employs nonresident workers, you will not want to miss this presentation. Andrus will address many key issues about the survey during his presentation, including:
1. What is a prevailing wage?
2. Why is a Prevailing Wage Study so important for the CNMI?
3. How can a business participate in the survey and also get the results?
4. What will be the methodology used for the survey?
5. Who has to approve the survey and its results?
6. How will employers and employees benefit from the results of the survey?
A question and answer period will take place after the presentation. The presentation is free and seats are limited, so reserve your seat by contacting Polly DLG Masga at 237-5122 or e-mail her at pollydlg@gmail.com. [B][I](SHRM)
