U14 Cute Na Boyz wins Rollers fundraiser
Rollers Basketball Club’s U14 Cute Na Boyz took home the top prize in last week’s 2011 Lip Sing Dance Show RBC Fundraiser held at the Garapan Central Park.
“We want to thank DCCA-DYS, our sponsors, and all of the RBC supporters for helping make our fundraiser a success. We also want to thank Saipan Music & Dance Studio’s Ester Sablan and Joel Vallega for serving as judges during the competition,” RBC head coach Joe Diaz.
The fundraiser was organized in conjunction with the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs’ Division of Youth Services and Pacific Islands Club to help send RBC’s U12, U14, U16, and U18 teams to the Guam’s 2011 Take Care-Summer Jam Youth Basketball Tournament that will run from June 24 to August 14. RBC players in the four divisions all performed in the event.
Cute Na Boyz performed Black Eyed Peas’ Dirty Bit to win the event. RBC Little Rascals U12’s rendition of Cute Little Brothers dancing and Let Me Take You Out, by Frankie J, featuring Travis Porter won runner-up honors; U16’s Local Mix’s version of Single Lady by Beyonce won third prize, and U14’s Mix Blue’s performance of Boyfriend by Big Time Rush came in fourth place.
Local dance group Project Impact provided the closing performance in the show.
DCCA-DYS donated trophies for the winners, while sponsors Tan Siu Lin Foundation, PIC, IT&E, Hyatt Regency Saipan, National Office Supply and Martha’s Retail Store gave various in-kind prizes.
