Volunteers are needed for the new breast and cervical health outreach project of the Commonwealth Cancer Association.

Program manager Tina Sablan said they need specific volunteers for a photo shoot within the week.

“The photos will be used in the materials we develop for our breast and cervical health outreach campaign,” she told Saipan Tribune.

Sablan said are looking for a grandmother/mother/daughter trio age 50 or older, in mid-thirties, and teenagers; two to three tweens; two mother/daughter pairs; and two women age 50 or older.

These female volunteers, Sablan said, are do not necessarily have to be cancer survivors.

Sablan noted, however, that they would also need breast and cervical cancer survivors for testimonials to be used in the outreach materials.

The program manager said they also need motivated and inspiring outreach volunteers who can commit to a six-week training program with CCA on Wednesday evening and Saturday mornings for two hours per day and a few hours every month thereafter for a year of volunteer service.

According to Sablan, the outreach volunteers will play an important role in developing a breast and cervical health outreach plan aimed at educating and empowering women of all ages to reduce their cancer risk.

“We are hoping for a diverse and inspiring group of at least 10 outreach volunteers, and if we have more than 20, that would be even better,” added Sablan.

To volunteer or for more information, contact CCA at 682-0050 or email cca@ccamarianas.org.
