Five bag top prizes in raffle draw
Five individuals went home with exciting prizes at the 30th Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival Raffle Draw as the four-day festival culminated last Sunday night.
Festival coordinator Parker Y. Yobei said the Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture and the Flame Tree Arts Festival Committee received hundreds of entries for the raffle draw.
Chrystal Myra Somol Borromeo won the grand prize of two round trip tickets to anywhere in the U.S. mainland. The prize was donated by Delta Air Lines.
Maria S. Camacho earned the one year unlimited local talk service from IT&E which is valued at $800.
Other winners who received IT&E donated items include Angel Demapan, who won the first prize of one Blackberry Bold valued at $565; Andrea S. Camacho, who won the second prize of one air card with six months free services valued at $425; and Marycris Waing, who won a Samsung i100 Gem Android Phone valued at $225.
All winners received their prizes from committee members at the festival site on June 12.
“We congratulate all the winners and thank everybody who bought the tickets and took time out to enjoy the festivities. We also want to thank our major sponsors: Delta Air Lines, IT&E, DFS Galleria, Bank of Guam, Coca-Cola, and the National Park Services for making this year’s event a successful one,” said Yobei.
Arts Council executive director Angel S. Hocog, for his part, expressed his appreciation to all local artists who have demonstrated their talents and skills to the community through the Flame Tree Arts Festival.
“Our gratitude also extends to the off-island performers from Tinian, Japan, and New Zealand who have made our 30th anniversary very memorable. We hope to see everyone again in next year’s festivities,” he added.
The largest cultural event in the Commonwealth, the Flame Tree Arts Festival was held on June 9-12 at the American Memorial Park, west of the Bell Tower in Garapan, This year’s theme was “30 years of Uniting Cultures and Traditions.”
