Federal agents arrested yesterday a woman who is facing an immigration document fraud case filed in the U.S. District Court for the NMI.

Federal agents served Rowena Agnes Urumelog with an arrest warrant issued by District Court Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona. Her bail was set at $2,000 cash.

As of 3pm yesterday, no schedule had been set yet for Urumelog’s initial court appearance.

According to the indictment filed on Sept. 22, Urumelog lied in the petition she filed with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for lawful permanent status for Abdullah Al Mamun.

Urumelog allegedly said “no” when asked if she had ever petitioned for another alien besides al-Mamun.

Urumelog allegedly knew that this was false in that on Jan. 22, 2003, she filed a petition for an alien relative for her then-husband Md. Jahangir Alam.
