I want to get my facts straight.
First, I understand that coming from the Interior Department from the Office of Tony Babauta, we have $52 million sitting for CIP activities. And the CNMI is the least active in moving projects.
Second, coming from the ARRA funding through the system in placed to track ARRA awards and expenditure, we have several more millions that is not moving. All in all we have over $100 million sitting right on top of us or somewhere that we can spend. Why is this happening to us?
Third, we know that if we switch our present food stamp program to SNAP (federal system) we can provide another infusion of badly needed capital. The total potential and guaranteed resources is over $150 millions.
All these resources if worked on will jumpstart our economy. I do not know if anyone disagrees with me but what in this darned earth are we doing and who in hell are we working for? With the three resources available right know for us to tap, we can infuse over $150 million of fresh capital to our economy.
God, shine some light (even a tiny flashlight) on the brain of our CNMI leaders so that they can stop fighting and concentrate on really doing something for the people. OK, sell the pozzolan to any country but do not poison the resources of the people. Allow the people to choose and be able to sell their land to outside investors but do not sell the people’s land, we need those for the future generation. Allow the present generation to prosper. Some may need to sell to sell their land to have their children educated. Education is more valuable than the land we give to our children. OK, let your young sit around drinking beer doing drugs day in and day out. God help these kids.
