For this month only, indulge in a special authentic Italian dish at Hyatt Regency Saipan’s Giovanni’s Restaurant, the only authentic Italian restaurant on island, as it joins the rest of the culinary world in celebrating the International Day of Italian Cuisines 2012.
International Day of Italian Cuisines is a reaction against the systematic forgery of Italian cuisine and products, aimed at protecting the right of consumers worldwide to get authentic and quality Italian cuisine in eateries labeled as Italian. It is a tradition launched by the Virtual Group of Italian Chefs, a network of over 1,700 culinary professionals working in 70 countries.
Based on a genuine recipe, Giovanni’s will be preparing the Ossobuco in Gremolata alla Milanese, the official dish of the 5th edition of the International Day of Italian Cuisines.
The word ossobuco means “hollow-bone” and, in culinary terms, it refers to the Italian dish ossobuco in gremolata alla Milanese, whose basic ingredient is veal shank. It originates from the Lombardy region and is one of the most counterfeited dishes of Italian traditional cuisine.
Hyatt executive chef Gabriele Colombo will lead Giovanni’s excellent and dedicated culinary team in preparing Ossobuco in Gremolata alla Milanese for the restaurant’s patrons.
Ossobuco will be featured at Giovanni’s until the end of the month. It will be served with the restaurant’s authentic Parmesan risotto and sautéed green asparagus for $30 per person. Giovanni’s recommends pairing the delectable dish with Santa Cristina Toscana or Danzante Chianti for $6 a glass.
