Man Amigos and Natibu remain unscathed in CSA

Last year’s Chamolinian Softball Association-Budweiser Softball League top contenders Man Amigos and Natibu so far are tugging at the wishbone again as the men’s division regular season continued last week at the Capitol Hill Field.
Both rival teams remain the only undefeated squads left among the 15-team field and both notched another couple of strong four-inning victories.
This past Wednesday, Natibu marched past Managaha (0-7), 22-5, for its eight victory, while last April 23 the defending champion Man Amigos tallied its sixth win over Manelos (4-2), 23-13.
In other men’s results, Team Elias (4-2) stepped up last Wednesday against X-clusive (3-4), 14-3, while Gagu Eyez (5-2) outlasted Ur Balls (4-2), 17-16, in a back-and-forth battle for third place that closed the night.
Back on April 23, Enamo Meta (2-5) made it past Rookies (1-3), 7-5, in the women’s division pairing, while men’s Warriors (2-4) rose up over Team Familia (3-5),13-4, in the late feature.
Saipal (4-4), Berdax (3-3), 6-Pack (2-3), G-Ballers (2-5), and Talu Fahn (1-6) make up the rest of the men’s division.
The women’s division, meanwhile, shows Check It Out undefeated in first place through four matches, with defending champions Sakudi (3-2) in second place followed by third-ranked 670 Babes (2-2).
Elias 14, X-clusive 3
Team Elias’ Mike Cruz broke the ice with a leadoff triple and scored on a fielder’s choice in the first inning.
X-clusive’s Mike Manas locked it at 1-1 later in the bottom of the third with an RBI single that scored Ben Duenas, but Team Elias erupted in the top half of the fourth with five runs scored off an error and a pair of two-run homers by B.J. Nicolas and J.P. Sablan.
X-clusive trimmed its deficit to 3-6 in the bottom frame with two runs off three hits. Manas bagged an RBI single.
Team Elias cranked out another eight runs in the fifth inning to put the run-rule into effect and held strong for the win.
Team Elias smashed seven hits including a pair of doubles by Cruz (RBI) and Glen Camacho (two RBIs) and a two-run blast by Mel Manahane.
Gagu Eyes 17, Ur Balls 16
Gagu Eyes overcame a pair of long balls in the first inning with eight hits in the bottom frame, which worked out to an early 7-4 advantage;. Gagu Eyes’ Tyrone Omar and Noki Torres bagged RBI singles and Nokki Saralu bashed a two-run homer.
Ur Balls countered and went in front, 8-7, in the second inning with a two-run blast by Mike Taitano and a pair of RBI singles by Marvin Kaipat and Juan Maratita, but Gagu Eyes’ Jesus Iguel tied it in the bottom frame with a solo bash.
Then after a quiet third, Your Ball managed an 11-10 edge after the fourth when a couple of errors loaded the bases for an RBI walk and a two-RBI base rip by Audie Maratita.
Gagu Eyes’ Juan Tenorio turned the tables in the fifth, however, with a three-run homer that made it 13-12, but it was not over yet as the game became knotted at 16-all in the sixth inning.
Gagu Eyes took care of business out on field in the top of the last inning and its pitcher J.R. Brel stepped in the box and pulled around a leadoff walk-off home run for the win.
Natibu 22, Managaha 5
Natibu gashed Managaha with nine runs out of the gate off six hits and some errors. J.R. Suel lifted a two-run home run, Bruce Norita cracked a two-RBI base rip, and Victor Salas bashed a grand slam.
They added four more in the second inning off another five hits highlighted by a leadoff triple by Jon Welson and a two-run bomb by Jerry Guerrero.
Managaha managed its first run in the third inning after Natibu tacked up six runs to go ahead, 19-0, in the top half off eight hits.
Natibu added three more runs at the start of the fourth and coasted to the early win.
Natibu’s B.J. Sablan batted 3-for-3.
Man Amigos 23, Manelos 13
Manelos stood tall, 9-7, after an explosive opening canto with a slew of 10 hits, but Man Amigos needed just two swings from Jerry Ayuyu and Julian Camacho to remain in range in the bottom side.
Manelos countered with a three-run homer followed by an RBI double, an RBI single, and an RBI triple from Nicko Martin, Pat Alepuyo, and Shane Mediola, respectively. Two other runs came off errors.
Then four walks and a base hit set up a three-run shot for Ayuyu and a grand slam by Camacho.
Man Amigos then pulled ahead, 10-9, in the second inning from an error and a couple of RBI singles by J.J. Laniyo and Camacho.
Manelos managed two runs from a long ball by Pete Tomokane in the top of the third, but Man Amigos’ top of the order pressed on, 18-11, in the bottom frame off eight hits.
John Reyes busted a two-run home run, Laniyo and Ben Jones bagged RBI singles, and Camacho delivered a two-RBI base knock.
Manelos’ Jun Cruz tried to get things in what would be the final stand with a leadoff solo shot, but it was to no avail. He batted 3-for-3 with another run in the game.
Man Amigos’ Camacho swung 4-for-4 with seven RBIs and another run.
Enamo Meta 17, Rookies 5
Enamo Meta jumped ahead, 7-0, in the first inning off an early error, three hits, four walks, and a fielder’s choice. Vanessa Mobel and Evelyn Kani bagged RBI singles.
The Rookies salvaged three runs from a two-RBI triple and an RBI base smash by Nadine Camacho, but Enamo Meta powered ahead, 15-3, in the third inning off six hits, a fielder’s choice, and some error. Julie Guerrero and Mobel bagged RBI singles and Kani a two-RBI base rip.
Rookies only responded with one run in the bottom frame and were one-upped again in the fourth inning, 2-1.
They held down Enamo Meta in the top of the fifth, but could not muster the three runs needed to keep the game going.
Enamo Meta’s Mobel batted 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a run and Guerrero went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs. Rookies’ Maribelle Igitol swung 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.
Warriors 13, Familia 4
Warriors built an early five-run lead in the opening frame off five hits with Darren Pua and Marley Techur bagged RBI singles.
Familia got one back in the bottom frame off an error, but went scoreless in the next three frames.
The Warriors added three runs in the third off another six hits and finished strong with five runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.
Warriors’ Melvin Keller gripped a two-RBI single, Joshua Garde bagged an RBI base rip, and Fred Pangelinan jacked a two-run shot in the sixth, while the crew worked around its runs off three hits and a fielder’s choice in the last frame.
Familia managed three runs off three hits and a sacrifice fly in the fifth and sixth innings, but could not posture a real comeback.
Warriors’ Techur batted 4-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs.
