Rota WIA participant completes Hawaii Job Corps Program
Back in April 2010, Orville Manglona was accepted into the Hawaii Job Corps Program, leaving his family and the peaceful island of Rota with these words: “To enhance my skills in academics, hands-on training and to increase my knowledge so I can give back to the community and with this rare opportunity I will work hard to succeed, make my family and island community proud, and be a positive role model to my younger brother.”
On Monday, the CNMI Workforce Investment Agency announced that Manglona has indeed fulfilled his promise and returned back home to Rota with a certificate of completion in Finance and Business Administration. In addition, Manglona brings home hard skill sets after passing MasterExams in IC3- Key Applications, PowerPoint 2007, Excel 2007, Outlook 2007 and IC3-Computing Fundamentals.
The WIA, under the Office of the Governor, is the administering agency for WIA USDOL ETA funded programs and also serves as the Job Corps Outreach and Admissions Agency as prescribed under the Workforce Investment Act of 1998. WIA extends its congratulations to Manglona for a job well done! (Office of the Governor)
