Starting Jan. 30, 2012, all Kagman High School students will be required to use their KHS identification cards 100 percent of the time in order to get meal services. No KHS identification card, no meal service.

In order to avoid, delay or disruption of meal services, parents are being urged to make sure that their children have their identification cards by Jan. 30.

At the beginning of this school year, all students of Kagman High School were provided with an identification card free of charge. This card contains a barcode that is used to process meal information for each student.

According to the school’s administration, the reason for requiring the ID cards is to have 100-percent accountability.

“This system is used to track school data for our federally funded programs. Parents can also inquire about their own child’s data, to see eating patterns, spending habits and frequency. This fully automated system allows for students to go through the meal line more quickly and efficiently; serving more students faster,” the school administration said in a statement.

Students who need replacement cards can request for them in the main office for a limited discounted replacement fee of $2 until Feb. 10. After Feb. 10, the price will go up to the original $5 replacement fee.
