BoG’s ‘Money Island’ wins financial literacy award

‘Best Electronic Instructional Game of the Year’ available at www.bankofguam.com

HAGATNA, Guam-Bank of Guam has received word that Money Island, offered by the bank on its website, has won an “Excellence in Financial Literacy Education” award for instructional game of the year, electronic. The Institute for Financial Literacy (www.FinancialLit.org) a nonprofit whose mission is to promote effective financial education and counseling, presented the EIFLE awards at the Annual Conference on Financial Education in Orlando, Florida.

Offered by Austin, Texas-based BancVue, Bank of Guam is currently offering Money Island to five schools, with plans to offer the program to all of Guam’s schools by the start of the next school year. Schools currently participating include Saint Anthony Catholic School, Bishop Baumgartner, Santa Barbara, San Vicente and Dominican Catholic School. Money Island is available at no cost through the Bank of Guam’s website at www.bankofguam.com.
