Autopsy done on murdered businessman
Guam’s chief medical examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola conducted an autopsy Monday night on a Korean businessman who was killed by an unidentified person or persons inside his store in Tanapag.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Eric David said yesterday that Espinola completed the autopsy at the Commonwealth Health Center.
David said he doesn’t have any information yet regarding Espinola’s findings relating to the cause of the victim’s death as well as the type of injuries.
The DPS spokesman said the autopsy results will be released later to the media.
David also confirmed yesterday that robbery was a factor to the killing.
“As for what’s stolen, I don’t have that information yet,” he said.
David said the detectives did not provide him any information about any suspects.
“As for now everything is on hold until such time they [detectives] conclude their investigation,” David said.
As to the victim’s identity, he said they are still working with the Korean Consulate in Guam, which is trying to notify the victim’s next of kin about the death.
The 65-year-old businessman was found by customers lying behind the cashier’s counter inside the New Star Market along Tanapag Avenue in Tanapag Sunday night. Investigators classified the case as homicide/murder.
