[B]Pams Resort hosts Family Fun Night[/B]

The Palms on Pau Pau Beach, along with Suave, Dove and Axe, is hosting a Family Fun Night set for May 22nd, at the Palms. This free event starts at 6pm, and will be held at the poolside area.

Part of the celebration will be dedicated to the official opening of the Palm’s Observatory. It is the very first observatory, equipped with research quality telescopes, in Micronesia. This will be a wonderful opportunity for families to get out and enjoy Stargazing while learning a little bit about astronomy, and having a good time.

In addition to the telescopes, face painting, treats and snacks will be offered at the poolside area.

[B]Hopwood Family Fun Night today[/B]

Hopwood Junior High school will be holding its 2nd Annual Family Fun Night at its Chalan Piao Campus today, May 15, from 5pm to 10pm. The public is invited to come and enjoy the different fun and games, back-to-back entertainment, food, drinks, and other goodies. Bring your family and friends for a special night out. (PR)

[B]MMAC’s Team Bodig hosts hot lunch fundraiser tomorrow[/B]

The Marianas March Against Cancer’s Team Bodig will host a Hot Lunch Fundraising Event tomorrow, May 16, 2009, at the NMI Museum in Garapan (across Sugar King Park).

Team Bodig is inviting the community to support their efforts in raising much needed funds for the battle against cancer by stopping by and purchasing a delicious hot lunch for only $5 each. [B]Military ID card personnel visit[/B]

This is to let all military identification cardholders and all concerned that the 9th Mission Support Command ID Card personnel will be on Saipan to issue new or renewal of Military ID card. They will be at the Army Reserve Center on Saipan on May 18-22, 2009. Their hours are from 8am-6pm.

Townhall meetings at the Kagman Community Center are as follows:

[B]Stimulus funding for Kagman[/B]

Department of Commerce Secretary Michael Ada will be having a public meeting at the Kagman Community Center on Monday, May 18, at 7pm regarding stimulus funding for the Kagman area. All are invited to share concerns and ask questions. (PR)

[B]MMAC Team Ahu hosts garage sale tomorrow[/B]

2009 Marianas March Against Cancer’s Team Ahu will be having a garage sale fundraising event tomorrow, May 16, and on Sunday, May 17, 2009, from 8am to 4pm, between Atool Pl. and Benavente’s Apartment in As Lito (directional signs will be available).

Team Ahu is inviting the entire community to help support their efforts in raising funds for the battle against cancer by stopping by their garage sale and purchasing various items that will be on sale. There will be signs directing you to the venue. All proceeds raised will go toward the 2009 Marianas March Against Cancer. [B]Kagman High School activities[/B]

Attention to parents and guardians of Kagman High School: Progress reports will be distributed on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm. The monthly PTSA meeting will be held on this same day, from 6pm to 7pm at the school cafeteria. The meeting will also be held via video teleconferencing for all parents, guardians, staff and students. [B]Kagman Elementary calendar of events[/B]

* May 15: Early dismissal of students at 12pm, 4th Quarter Mid-Progress report distribution to parents and guardians at 1:30pm-4:30pm.

* May 18-22: PSS Standard Based Assessment Week for the following students in each affected grade levels: 3rd, 4th, 5th grades and also to include CCLHS in 4th grade level. Students attendance is highly encouraged. SBA is from 8am to 10am, Monday-Friday.

* Registration is ongoing for SY 2009-10 for Kinder to 5th grade students. Parents and guardians must provide the following: Birth certificate, health clearance, health insurance, map of their residence, and legal guardianship from the court in order for any student to be registered without the biological parents. [B]MHS Class of ’70 preps for reunion[/B]

The first graduates of Marianas High School, the Class of 1970, is gearing up for its 40th class reunion next year, 2010. As a kicker, the group will be having a potluck picnic for all classmates, on Sunday, May 24, at the Carolinian Utt from 9:30am until 4:30pm. A meeting for the last-minute preparation of the picnic will be held on May 14, Thursday, at the Marianas High School conference room, Building H. at 6pm. All classmates are encouraged to attend this very important gathering. Puengin Inetnon is Kagman’s Friday Night Market for food, drinks, snacks, clothing, arts and crafts. It will be held every government payday Friday. The Kagman Komunidat Association is looking for vendors to sell produce and fish due to popular demand by customers. Other vendors are also invited. The Kagman Saturday Flea Market will resume next Saturday, May 23, at 8am at the Kagman Community Center Parking Lot. It will be held every government payday Saturday.
