Four-way tie for Majors lead
The Jets and Red Sox forced a four-way tie for the lead in the Major division of the 2009 Saipan Little League Baseball after notching contrasting wins Saturday at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Basa Pangelinan Ballfield.
The Jets nailed their 10th win against two defeats after slipping past Ol’Aces in an extra inning, 4-3. The loss was Ol’Aces’ second in a row, putting them in a tie with the Jets, Red Sox, and Hustlers for the No. 1 spot.
Centerfielder Dalyn Flores scored the winning run for the Jets. Flores led off in the bottom of the seventh inning and singled. The Jets second batter was beaten to first, the next two walked, and the fourth was struck out. The fifth batter was hit by a pitch, allowing Flores to walk to home plate for the winning run.
The Jets forced an extra inning after pitcher Jose Lizama made a two-run single and tied the game at 3-all.

Red Sox 6, Little Lion 1[/B]
Red Sox had an easier time getting their 10th victory after hammering Lion Lion, 6-1.
A five-run bottom of the fifth helped Red Sox break the 1-1 deadlock and take the win.
Craig Aguon gave Red Sox their first run, scoring on a Little Lion error at the bottom of the first. Red Sox then went cold in the next three innings.
Little Lion made it into the scoreboard at the top of the third inning, as catcher Cedric Ada singled and drove Justin Santos home.
Red Sox ended the deadlock with three earned runs and two on Little Lions’ errors at the bottom of the fifth. Keene Guerrero finished the job at the top of the six inning, striking out Little Lions’ first three batters.

Braves 10, Falcons 9[/B]
The Braves survived the Falcons’ rally to eke out a 10-9 win.
The Braves improved to a 6-5 record, while the Falcons dropped to a 2-9 slate.
Three runs in the first and four more in the second put the Braves in control of the game early. But the Falcons remained in contention and were down by only four runs, going into the top of the last inning, 6-10.
The Falcons needed at least four runs to extend the game. After a bad start, which saw their leadoff batter beaten to first, the Falcons next two batters scored and they moved within one, 9-10, after fourth batter M.J. Aldan reached home plate on a Braves’ miscue.
But that was the closest that the Falcons could get, as fifth batter A.J. Evangelista flied out to second and the sixth batter was beaten to first base on a 1-3 putout play.
