The Philippine Consulate General on Saipan announced Thursday a new requirement for the hiring of overseas Filipino workers.

Employers or principals are now required to sign all pages of the employment contract along with the addendum to the employment contract if such is required or presented.

Philippine Consul General Wilfredo DL. Maximo said this additional requirement is based on a memorandum recently issued by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration concerning the facilitation of the registration and employment contracts for OFWs.

Maximo urged all employers and employer representatives to comply with this new requirement so as not to incur delays in the processing and verification of the employment contracts with the Philippine Overseas Labor Office here on Saipan.

He said this would eventually help employers in the processing of registration of these documents with POEA in the Philippines.
