Water outage in San Vicente area

The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. announced has scheduled a water outage in a portion of San Vicente on Saturday, May 9, 2009, from 7:30am until Sunday, May 10, at 6: 30pm.
The outage will affect customers residing behind San Vicente Church area. Water service will be restored to affected customers as soon as the work is complete.
The CUC Water Division Distribution Maintenance crew is scheduled to work on the San Vicente Reservoir to seal all holes and openings, and to inspect, clean and disinfect the storage tank. This required work is necessary to protect treated stored water and provide improved overall water quality for public consumption.
This work enables the Water Division to comply with the stipulated order concerning drinking water operations and maintenance in correcting major sanitary deficiencies cited during storage tanks inspections.
Residents are encouraged to practice strict water conservation and to teach children and household workers to save water, especially during this period. Rainwater catchments systems and water tanks should be cleaned and float valves installed or replaced to ensure that water does not overflow from any tanks.
