The Tournament of Champions has donated $25,000 to assist with landscaping the Paseo de Marianas in Garapan.

The donation was made through funds raised by its annual golf tournament that benefits the Saipan Beautification Fund.

The project will add approximately 3,200 plants to the Paseo. The project is expected to be completed by May 30, a great way to wrap up “Tourism Month.”

Now on its 14th year, the Tournament of Champions has become the premier golf tournament in the region. This year’s tournament will be played on Aug. 1 and 2 at LaoLao Bay Golf Resort. With 288 players scheduled to play this two-day tournament, TOC looks forward to raising more money for the Saipan Beautification Fund.

Over the past 13 years, TOC has raised in excess of $500,000 for the fund.

“It is great to see the money we raise by sponsors and players being used to enhance such a vital part of our island,” says tournament chair Ben Babauta. “The Paseo de Marianas is a high traffic area for both tourists and our local community. We look forward to the completion of this project for all to enjoy.”
