The MGO Lancheros opened their title campaign in the 2009 Belau Softball Masters League with a 12-3 win over Choll Aces on March 29 at the Dandan Elementary School Ballfield.

Ton Magofna singled on his way to the game’s first run in the top of the first inning via Ton Norita’s double and a Jeff Cabrera single, but that was the best that Kagman Jack could muster in the match.

Darwin Masaharu singled to send Hines Asanuma to home plate in the third for a 3-1 lead and the Salty Boys added five more runs out of six hits and a walk in the fifth.
That five-run explosion was aided by a two-run single from Ngiraikelau, who later scored his second run, duplicating Bobai and Asanuma’s feats.
Kentaro made the final run on Fulk Haruos’ single.
In the other match, the Dolphins capitalized on a 3-0 lead after four full innings then dashed off an attempted rally by the Trubaks in the top of the seventh.
