A penny is what saves you
To the people of the Commonwealth: I will not list the many disasters we are all facing today for they are all to painful, but I will leave all you especially the voters something to think about over the weekend and in the coming months of why we are in the predicaments we face today.
For well over 30 years we the voters had been made to believe and understand that in order to run for the highest seat or any seat in public office, one must posses politics by birth or years of political background to include possessing the educational credentials of having a Ph.D, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in business administration or political science.
Please correct me if I’m mistaken when I say that the very reason we are all in the predicament we face today is because of the making and the creation of such backgrounds.
A wise old man once told me that 90 percent of people who posses a high school diploma with years of hands-on experience, hard work, determination, commitment and thorough knowledge in the field they posses prevail over the educated bookworm each time they are put to the test.
Why? The heart of an ordinary person has more sensitivity, understanding and care for the suffering and is 10 times more committed, and determined to achieve a common goal for the good of the people.
The 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln, was born to uneducated farmer parents, had only 18 months of schooling, and was largely self-educated, yet he guided his country through the most devastating experience in its national history, the Civil War. Lincoln is considered by many historians to have been the greatest American president.
I am sure not one of the candidates currently running possess these traits. Remember my fellow citizens, that 99 percent of the time a penny is what saves you.
