EDA gives NMI Commerce $110K grant
The U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration announced yesterday a $110,000 grant to the CNMI Department of Commerce on Saipan, to help prepare a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy that will guide the Commonwealth’s economic development efforts.
“The Economic Development Administration is pleased to partner with the CNMI to boost business development and job growth,” said Sandra R. Walters, EDA Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer. “This EDA grant will assist the Commonwealth in attracting private investments that will result in industrial diversity and job growth.”
EDA supports the economic development needs of distressed communities throughout the United States. Its mission is to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitiveness and preparing American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.
