‘The Shreddar’ to see action in Art of War III
Guam’s Luis “The Shreddar” Blanco will be featured in the superfights for The Art of War III Grappling/Submissions Challenge tomorrow, March 14, at the Hibiscus Hall of the Fiesta Resort and Spa.
Blanco will be flexing his muscles against three experienced mixed martial arts fighter that include Baby Joe “The Juggernaut” Taimanglo of Guam, Cuki Alvarez of Saipan, and Justin “The Shocker” Cruz of Guam.
The fourth bout in the superfights will be between Tetsuji Kato of Japan and Terence “T-Rex” Aflague of Guam.
Blanco is a jujitsu specialist from Guam.
Taimanglo is the PXC lightweight MMA champion, who served as referee during Rites of Passage VI at the Saipan World Resort last Jan. 25.
Alfaque is a brown belt while Kato is a Trench Tech instructor.
Alvarez, Trench Tech Inc. president and promoter, said interested fighters would be accepted only until today, March 13, with an entry fee of $20.
Competitors will receive a T-shirt upon registration.
Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 finishers in each category.
The weight classes are bantamweight (100-130 lbs.), featherweight (131-140 lbs.), super lightweight (141-150 lbs.), lightweight (151-160 lbs.), welterweight (161-180 lbs.), middleweight (181-200 lbs.), and heavyweight (200 lbs. and over).
Entrance fee for spectators is $5. The door will open at 9am with the fights to start at 10am.
