Joeten Motors bounced back with an easy 17-7 win against Commonwealth Ports Authority in one of two make-up games Tuesday night in the Budweiser Inter-Government/Business Slow-pitch Softball League at the Capital Hill Ballpark.

The Jets zoomed to a 10-4 lead after two full innings en route to completing the win in just six innings via the 10-run mercy rule.

Lead batter Jason Hayes and pitcher J.J. Laniyo scored four runs each, while shortstop Cliff Silil added three to lead the offense for the Jets, which climbed from seventh to fourth place in the team standings.

Laniyo went 2-for-2, including one of two homeruns for the team. He did it in the top of fourth.

The other homerun came from right fielder Ben Taisacan in the second. Taisacan went 2-for-4 at bat, including six RBIs and two runs.

Centerfielder J.J. Cabrera had three RBIs and one run. The other run scored by the Jets came from Jeff Tenorio and Jess Taitano.

Left fielder Frank Robert also hit a homerun in the second inning but that hardly mattered in the game for CPA, which fell from fifth place to seventh place with a 10-3 win-loss record.

Docomo 17, Legislature 5

Docomo needed just five innings to demolish Legislature, 17-5, and improved its ranking from fourth to third with a 12-4 card.

Still in the lead is Department of Community and Cultural Affairs (17-0), while occupying second is Freedom Air (12-3).

Docomo started with three runs in the top of the first inning following a two-run homerun by shortstop Payton Sakuma.

Then Gloyd Martin hit another homer.

In the bottom of he first, five Legislature players—Dave Apatang, Mitch Aaron, Fonze Tarope, Ben Camacho, and Dennis Cabrera—reached home plate in succession and the team took a 5-3 lead for full two innings.

Legislature never scored after that as Docomo pitcher Leo Bobai allowed only three hits in the next three innings.

Docomo rallied with four runs in the third, six in the fourth, and four in the fifth.

Sakuma finished with five RBIs, three runs, one homerun, and a triple on a 4-for-4 performance.

John Acosta had four runs, four RBIs, three hits, and a double. Martin added three runs, three RBIs, one homerun, a double on 3-of-4 at bat.
