Man arrested for punching officer
An intoxicated man allegedly punched a police officer who tried to stop him from fighting with another man outside the Chicago Club in Garapan Saturday night.
Department of Public Safety spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said that Ryan Reyes Agulto, 21, was arrested for assault and battery of a police officer, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace.
Ogumoro said police officers responded to Chicago Club on Saturday at 11:21pm after they received a call about a fight outside the club.
When the officers arrived at the location, they observed a crowd surrounding two men who were fighting on the sidewalk.
Officers dispersed the crowd and separated the two men, one of them identified as Agulto.
Agulto started shouting profanities, prompting police officers to tell him to calm down. Agulto became aggressive and started shouting at the officer’s face. When the officer pushed Agulto away, the suspect allegedly punched the officer in the face.
Officers then took down Agulto, but he continued to resist. As he was placed inside the police car, the suspect allegedly kicked the rear passenger door.
Police learned that prior to the fight, Agulto had an argument with another man inside the club. Agulto and the man then later had a fight outside the club.
