Patriots undefeated after three games

The Patriots played solid in two straight days to take the early lead in the Junior Division of the 2009 season of the Saipan Little League.

Displaying their championship spirit, the Patriots completely dominated D’9ers, 18-5, last Saturday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” M. Palacios Ballfield.

Then on the next day, the Patriots needed only four and a half innings to post another easy 11-1 win over the Fielders.

Fielders catcher Patrick Tenorio was the lone player from his team to score a run in the third inning as Patriots pitchers Christian Mizer and Jeremy Rabauliman helped the team deliver the beating from the mound.

Mizer also led the Patriots’ offense with three runs in the first, third, and fourth innings. Jared Sablan and Rabauliman added two, while Franklin Santos, reliever Austin Lizama, Henry Rabauliman, and Richard Borja came up with one each.

The Patriots, who were champions in the Major Division the past three seasons, are now pacing the Junior Division with an unblemished record of 3-0 following their opening game triumph over the Red Sox, 13-4, last Feb. 16. The

The other team still undefeated in the Junior League is Ol’Aces at 2-0. They beat the Fielders last Feb. 16 by a big margin, 29-13, and also won over the Red Sox.

Ol’Aces tied defending champion Lion Heart, 5-5, in the opening game last Feb. 15. That game will be played at a later date.

Other results last weekend showed the Red Sox winning over Lion Heart, 7-5.
[B] Jets lead Seniors League, 3-0[/B]

In the Senior League, defending champion Jets also streaked to their third straight win by walloping Kagman Lion King, 11-2, last Feb. 22.

The Jets earlier opened their title-retention bid with a hard-fought 5-4 decision against the Fielders. They also struggled before coming home with a 7-4 victory over Ol’Aces last Feb. 16.

Ol’Aces finally barged into the win column via 11-7 win against Lion King last Feb. 21, while the Fielders won their first game in two starts over D’9ers, 14-4.

[B]Hustlers win back-to-back[/B]

In the Major Division, the UMDA Hustlers won consecutive games after beating the BoS Red Sox, 5-1, that duplicated their opening game win over the Dragons, 7-4, last Feb. 15.

Also winning on Saturday were Ol’Aces over Tanapag Braves, 5-0; Survivors over Kagman Little Lions, 7-1; and Century A’s over As Matuis Twins, 9-8.
