Superior Court Associate Judge Ramona M. Manglona has imposed a seven-day prison term on a man who, while intoxicated, hit his stepfather on the head.

Manglona sentenced Marcelo Taitano Lisua Jr. to one year in prison, all suspended except for seven days, for assault and battery.

Following a plea agreement, the judge gave the 38-year-old Lisua credit for one day he has already spent in jail.

The defendant was ordered to start serving the remaining six days at the Department of Corrections on Monday at 8am.

Manglona placed Lisua on probation for one year and required him to pay a $100 fine, $25 court assessment fee, and $100 in annual probation service fee.

She required the defendant to perform 100 hours of community service and barred him from drinking or possessing any alcoholic beverages for the entire probation period.

The Attorney General’s Office charged Lisua with assault and battery, and criminal mischief.

Lisua and counsel, assistant public defender Matthew Holley, signed a plea agreement with the government. The defendant pleaded guilty to assault and battery, a crime involving domestic violence.

The criminal mischief charge was dismissed pursuant to the agreement.

The agreement stated that on July 15, 2007, while intoxicated, Lisua hit his stepfather, Marcelo Toledo Adoca, in the head.

Police said the defendant also damaged the windshield of the victim’s car that same day.
