It’s business as usual at Shell gasoline stations on Saipan despite a report that Shell is selling its assets in the CNMI, Guam and Palau to Honolulu-based Aloha Petroleum Ltd.

Jeff P. Boyer, retail area manager for Shell Saipan, said any change in ownership will be communicated to the management and staff.

“Right now, I’m still an employee of Shell. We don’t have any information about the sale,” said Boyer. “It’s business as usual.”

Jim Arenovski, co-owner of Delta Management Corp.-Saipan which operates three Shell gas stations on the island, said they have not received any communication about the sale. Delta Management Corp. in Guam operates four Shell service stations on the island.

Saipan has a total of eight Shell service stations.

Marianas Business Journal earlier reported that Shell is proceeding to sell its retail stations in Guam, the CNMI and Palau to Aloha Petroleum Ltd.

Aloha Petroleum, according to its website, is Hawaii’s largest independently owned gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, ethanol, and lubricants distributor.

It operates 30 Island Mini-Mart convenience stores and over 70 Aloha Gasoline stations in Hawaii.
